Why is olive oil added to CBD capsules?
Most of you have probably noticed that our hemp capsules are always accompanied by olive oil. The decarboxylation process and the effect of the environment in which the cannabis is administered are important here.
In this post, we’ll try to explain a little more about what we base our approach to CBD products on.
At OLARTO, we try to educate as much as sales. We encourage you to expand your knowledge of the plant and the chemical processes associated with it, and thus take full advantage of the benefits of green leaves and flowers.
So let’s find out why we can safely eat cannabis and feel its effects to the fullest.
AMERICAN SCIENTISTS REPORT...
- You have probably heard such a sentence many times in support of someone’s argument, but no one could point to the right sources. That is why we refer you to a specific study by scientists from the University of Minnesota at the very beginning. The effect of CBD on epileptic symptoms was analysed here. Part of the study was to look at the conditions under which the body’s absorption of cannabinoids was best. It was no coincidence that it turned out that the best carrier of these compounds is fat. Chemically, CBD is a fatty molecule, so it is best transferred and dissolved in fats. For this reason, it does not dissolve in water (although there is a technology for the production of so-called water-soluble liposomal cannabinoids for use in CBD-infused beverages).
- What’s more, the study proved that cannabinoids in our body are stored in fats. Researchers in Minnesota administered CBD capsules to two research groups: in one of them, the study participants were on a low-fat diet, and in the other, it was a high-fat diet. The level of bioavailability in the second group was up to 14 times higher. This may be good news for some – the more fat we take in together with CBD, the better the absorption and longer the activity of this compound. No harmful or unpleasant side effects were reported. Of course, we recommend eating these healthy fats, such as avocado or olive oil.
DECARBOXYLATION
- We must also mention another important process that affects the proper absorption of cannabinoids – decarboxylation. To put it simply: dried CBD usually does not contain CBD, and marijuana rarely has THC in it. The cannabinoids contained in fresh and dried hemp flowers are in acidic form, i.e. CBDA and THCA.
- The high temperature of combustion (or vaporization) causes rapid decarboxylation, i.e. the conversion of inactive THCA into working THC. Eating marijuana without decarboxylating it will not produce the effect that most users want. To sum up: heat treatment plus fat as a CBD/THC concentrator and carrier ensure full and effective absorption of cannabinoids.
BET ON OLARTO
- Having assimilated the above knowledge and based on factual research, we can now clearly answer the question in the title of this post. We have prepared CBD capsules that contain added fat in the form of olive oil. Thanks to this, the absorption of cannabinoids, e.g. from dried herbs in capsules, is much better.
- In addition, our products contain the full spectrum of cannabinoids without the addition of isolates. We serve you a wide range of natural hemp experiences. You can eat hemp and enjoy the full goodness it offers.
